About Pa Construction Career Day

Pennsylvania Construction Career Day is an industry sponsored event for high school students to explore career opportunities in highway design, construction, and maintenance. Planned activities include operating heavy equipment, testing materials, surveying, welding, designing a bridge, use of safety equipment, concrete finishing, drilling, rebar tying, estimating a job, use of GPS/GIS information technology, and much more. Small groups of students are escorted by construction industry volunteers who serve as a source of information about the business as well as guides to the activities.

Future Events

Although there are no events planned for 2012, hopefully economic conditions will improve in the near future to allow for continuation of these workforce development educational programs in 2013.
